This is our vegan and healthy version of the traditional burger and fries. Red beans add a rich texture to this vegan burgers and are really easy to make. The sourdough bread complements the flavor perfectly and the sweet potato fries are a great side dish for this sandwich. Skip to the recipe.
This burgers are easy to make and protein rich, 0.3 oz per 3.5 oz of boiled beans. They taste delicious and their rich texture will satisfy non-vegan alike. We coated them with corn meal to make them more crispy on the outside.
Another thing to mention is that the preparation time includes the time it took us to boil the beans, yet you can shorten this time by soaking them overnight or if you use canned beans skip the boiling altogether. You can find the recipe for the bread we used here and the recipe for the sweet potato fries here. Ajvar is heavenly, I love it, here is the recipe if you like red bell peppers otherwise you can substitute it with any other sauce you like.
We hope you’ll try them! If you have any suggestion you can write us an e-mail or leave it in the commentaries section.
