I don’t like industrialized products, it is that I just like to know what I’m eating. The International Numbering System for Food Additives (INS) makes it harder to know what you really are eating and confusingly the E number that is for products sold in the European Union.
On top of that there is the Palm Oil issue. I don’t buy anything with it because of how environmentally bad it is. So I end up making everything at home. This almond butter is easy to make and can be used to make almond milk (see our recipe here)! It’s a win-win!

How to Make Almond Butter
- 1 lb of shelled raw almonds
- Stored in a sterilized jar in can last up to 3 months in the fridge.
